    "Price was cheap for a city hotel, but I learned you pay for what you get. It's ok place to stay for a night or two, but not longer. I stayed five nights during my stay in Scotland. By the last night I couldn't wait to leave. If traveling again, I'd probably pay the additional money and stay in another location. It's a good place for a quick overnight, esp. for younger adults."     Staff was generally friendly and accomodating. I requested a new room because of noise issues that kept me awake until 5 a.m. They were very willing to do that, although I did say I needed a different room or I'd have to find a different hotel. They did offer to refund money if i was unsatisfied. Breakfast serving staff were very hospitable and friendly. Service good.

    Get a room at the back of the hotel. The noise from the clubs on the street a block away kept me awake....as did a loud party in an apt. across the street. The new room I was moved to was much cleaners, freshing refurbished and it was quiet. Although it had a good bed for sleeping, the first room was "quirky" and not all that clean. There was mold on window sills and a musty smell in the air. Plumbing didn't work efficiently. Workmanship on the rooms finishing was cheap and shoddy.

    "Bad. Apart from the original receptionist, the others were surly, churlish and unhelpful. Poor television. Only one tooth glass, small. Heating in room inedequate. Nylon lower sheet. Cotton upper sheet under duvet: replace only this and not duvet cover? Toilet roll sitting on holder - no pin on which to affix toilet roll. Toilet rool was part used - no attempt made to disguise this. Ugh, not happy." (107459307)

    Pleasant breakfast staff.

    Dingy, tired accommodation. Very poor instructions on how to get to the guest house. No explanation given about one-way streets. The receptionist from whom we requsted further information was unhelpful as she wasn't a driver.

    Good standard.

    Location. It's on the top of a hill. Your website gives the distance and a map but it does not say that it's a long uphill climb.

    "I believe that you get what you pay for and although the accommodation was reasonable priced I think a few of the things metioned above could be dealt with. " (107928047)

    1.Bed in poor conditiion, lumpy and not comfortable at all. 2.Although room was warm, duvet was not adequate to keep you warm during the night (too small)and there were no other blankets to accommodate. 3.Door into room in very poor condition, wood chipped and broken. 4.Key fob heavier than key therefore kept falling out of keyhole when trying to lock the door and when you have athritic hands not very comfortable. 5. Cheap products used for breakfast and not very tasty i.e. bacon and potato scones.

    "From arrival I was treated with respect. I was allowed to leave my bag in a secure area until it was time to check in. The staff were very helpful all the time. The room was very clean and fresh and the bed and bedding were perfect. Breakfast was excellent, very fresh and very tasty. the dining area was clean to a high standard.     "It is a pity that they have not paid any attention to the guests' feeling even the room itself was OK. My room was on the second floor so isolated and I had to run with fear anyone could jump out from a dark coner." (97944387)

    spacious shower/toilet room

    spookiness of the building. I felt dainger reaching to my room on my own. The hotel need new carpets(hoplessly old), decolations and lightings to brighten up the communal area specially halls and stairs.

    Cheap, Cheap, Cheap. Room was a decent size, bed comfortable. Shared bathroom adequate. Breakfast ok, nothing special. Staff were friendly though

    Rest of the place felt a bit tatty Felt a bit odd handing them the key back every time you left the building.

    "My main complaint was noise, both from the banging door and from noisy groups of guests coming and going at all times of the night.     o The room was clean, though somewhat overheated, and well lit. o Staff (reception and breakfast) were polite and friendly. o Receptionists offered, unprompted, to book a taxi for me at no extra charge when I was leaving to go to my days' activities. o General air of pleasantness about the hotel.

    o Noisy (as in slamming) fire door right outside room kept me awake/ woke me up in the night. o Not all breakfast options were given (no printed menu, just waitress the basic list) one had to ask to find out that there were several alternatives ways to have the eggs done! o There was a phone in the room but no instructions as to how to use it. o Control rod for plug in basin was missing its know so it was difficult to get a basin full of water.

    The booking process when I made my reservation on the internet was excellent. Checking in and out was hastle-free. The staff were very polite including the people who kindly gave me breakfast in the mornings. The hotel was nice and central, and had excellent facilities.

    la scozia...i suoi colori,la diversa cultura del luogo e la voglia di vivere specie dei giovani.

    l'hotel...un poco fatiscente..senza tv satellitare,senza ascensore,con orari di brekfast inusuali per chi viaggia principalmente per piacere (h 7.00,h9.00 am) con arredamento e confort non molto curato ma con receptionist gentili e disponibili.

    "Staff on reception when checking in were friendly, efficient and welcoming. I only reserved a standard single room and for the price I was paying in the centre of Glasgow so wasn't expecting much but there was nothing to complain about - room was clean, comfortable and everything worked. Bathroom down the corridor was fine. Unfortunately I didn't make breakfast time but it smelt delicious!!! All in all, no complaints - I was up in Glasgow visiting friends - we all studied at the Scottish Hotel School (Strathclyde Uni) so I like to think we understand and a little about the hospitality industry!!     Location, value for money, easy check-in and payment and efficient staff.

    Nothing to complain about at all - one suggestion - decorate the corridors - very dated and a bit tatty.

    full breakfast was not very filling!!! breakfast consisted of 1 rasher of bacon, a small spoon of beans,potato scone and half grilled tomato and small fried egg was disappointed that there was not at least a sausage in sight.

    "I had the cheapest room in the hotel which was good value. The communal areas and toilets etc were clean, but my room carpet could have been cleaner. The TV was very small and the tv reception wasn't great, but it had some paid channels. If you just want a place to crash for the night for a few days, then its good. But any more you would want to upgrade to a better room (although I can't say how good those rooms are since I haven't seen them.)" (97219690)

    It was a very convenient and yet quiet location

    The general public areas other than the dining areas were as others have said tatty. A little attention to detail would help gloss on some of the undercoat, finish the bathroom panels.

    Very central location and very pleasant staff. Excellent value for money.

    It is reasonably priced yet you get everything you would hope for and the staff were very helpful and accommodating as i arrived late,wanted a veggie breakfast, needed to leave my bags a while the next day and then they ordered a taxi too

    The directions to the guest house were very good.

    The parking situation is very poor. The hotel is in need of updating and repair. While it was clean, the atmosphere was dreary.
