    Nice room and bathroom, very clean and comfortable with adequate space. Staff very helpful and friendly. In a really good location.

    Thre only bad points were there was some noise from the corridors during the night from other guests and housekeeping arriving unannounced even though we had only booked in an hour earlier! Not sure why this was.

    Excellent modern hotel. Everything was new looking and to a high standard. The mini bar was fully stocked, there was everything we needed and it all worked well. We had a very pleasant nights stay with absolutely no problems. It was definitely value for money!

    The only minor problem was that the bathroom door didn't latch properly.

    "Finally got to the hotel in a bad mood, having been diverted halfway round Brimingham centre because of the tory party conference. Looking fro parking - a memeber of staff (a concierge I guess) outside the hotel directed me to the convenient multistorey next door. The hotel has its own parking but it fills up quickly and in any case they give you a discount on the multistorey so it's the same price (" (107379191)

    This was an excellent hotel. It's nearness to airport, train station, shopping area, bullring, hippodrome, symphony hall etc was excellent. A quiet hotel in a nice location, yet within walking distance of everything, especially some really trendy bars and restaurants. Superb hotel. Will definitely be back to stay for another weekend.

    The hotel had a very relaxed, friendly atmosphere without losing any sense of efficiency. The rooms were excellent (better than a recent 5 star hotel overseas!)The location was good and staff were very welcoming and friendly, any requests were quickly and easily dealt with. We were all very pleased with the stay and would certainly recommend it.

    The only issue we had was my being charged an additional incorrect amount on my credit card bill on check out. My friends' costs were added to my card even though they had already paid. This was human error and the member of staff did apologise.

    "The upgrade to the hotel is excellent and certainly good value for money. It is an great spot in central Birmingham." (108082291)

    After problems booking in the operations manager dealt with the situation immediately and smoothed our path for the rest of the stay including free drinks in the bar. Any body can make a mistake, it is how it is dealt with afterwards that matters and top marks to the City Inn on this occasion. already re-booked for next year.

    The hotel had double booked our room and initially wanted us to go elsewhere at 9 o'clock at night. Fortunately the operations manager found rooms and proceeded to make our stay the perfect one by plain excellent customer service.

    Well situated near good bars and restaurants in the Brindley Place canal area. And surprise surprise, the room had an awesome iMac computer - just what we needed for a bit of photo-uploading to Facebook and skyping family back home Down Under.

    The only thing i would have changed would have been to add a television to the room.

    "Whilst the check in was reasonably efficient, I was disappointed that we were not informed that our mini bar was locked. The remote control for the stereo was not working - perhaps this should be checked regularly. During our stay there was a fire alarm, clearly it is important to ensure you can evacuate promptly - the staff however, were giving little or no guidance at all about where we should congregate once we had left the building. We decided to eat at the hotel the first night, rather disappointingly one of the meals was so over cooked it was inedible and had to be sent back, we were however offered complimentary drinks whilst we waited." If there is no chance of an upper floor room why is there a choice option? It probably would not have affected my choice of staying at the City Inn if I'd known about the building work going on next door but for others it may make a difference so a note of warning on the Hotels website would be appreciated."     "We had a major problem in connection with the 2 day booking which we were advised included breakfast. When we actually got to the hotel, we were informed this was not so, after complaining about this, it was agreed that we could have breakfast included. But next morning when we went down for breakfast, we were again advised it was not included. this was then apparently sorted and we had breakfast. The following morning we once again had the very same problem, which was supposedly again sorted. But when checking out that day the breakfasts were added to the bill, again i had to point out that the original booking online included breakfasts, this was then deducted from the bill. We were disgusted and embarrassed at having to point this fact out several times, which spoiled an otherwise very happy weekend." (97267295)

    Very clean, spacious & very comfortable, we have no doubt we will be using this hotel on a regaular basis for our business stays in Birmingham.
