    "Very relaxing, enjoyed meals and would certainly visit again." (107530593)

    Very pleasant, friendly & efficient staff. Hotel easy to get to and not noisy during the night.

    None really, apart from being cold in bar & restaurant, but in these hard times it must be very difficult heating large areas when not particularly busy.

    Clean, well maintained room. Budget hotel with added facility of bar/bistro/lounge area. Easy access from main route into city centre. Interesting walk from hotel along canal side into heart of city.

    No room service - breakfast in room would have been appreciated

    Asked for an alarm call, my phone was flashing when I got up but there was no sound from it, no follow up when I didn't answer, could not get the wall heater to work

    They moved us straight away and the food was excellent

    when we got there they had over booked and we couldnt have a twin room, then there was a bad smell and the oilet wasnt clean.

    food was very good and reasonably priced. Restaurant staff were excellant

    we were given keys to a room whivh was already occupied and when we were moved the light in the bathroom ws faulty and the kettle did not work. Reception staff were fairly helpful but didn't go the extra mile and could only offer a change of room which was non smoking and therefore unexeptable for our needs

    The bath quite small and the shower quite low so if you were a tall person you would have trouble

    the hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were helpful,it is easy to find and conveniently located for the nia that we were visiting.

    the beds though comfortable were rather mobile as they were on wheels.parking was a little difficult as the hotel was very full.

    Secure parking

    Location is poor being on the edge of an industrial area and low grade housing adjacent! Reception understaffed and our check-in was interrupted 3 times by the receptionist having to attend to other things. Bedrooms look very tired in need of a complete face-lift, shower head was broken, mould growing around bath, overall bedroom furnishings are basic. The hotel is used for weddings and the night of our stay was extremely noisy. Food was fair at best!

    Staff were very helpful, especially at helping us order some take away food, which we were allowed to have in our room which was good saving us having to go out again.

    room decor is very dated and could do with a make over. . .very tired and horrible colours!

    "Fine apart from the breakfast. It is necessary to put a cooked breakfast on a hot plate and to keep everything warm while cooking the eggs which should be done at the last minute. I advise getting a new cook if he/she does not know not know these very simple rules." (107165303)

    We like the hotel for its convenience and position on the canal. We also like the 'International' flavour with staff from overseas. Everyone was helpful and friendly

    Breakfast. We asked friends to join us for breakfast ( as we did last year). My breakfast came immediately. The plate was cold, the scrambled eggs ( which I did not order) were cold. I quickly ate the fried egg. The cold bacon did not matter - it was excelllent. The other three in the party reported cold plates, lukewarm beans and cold scrambled eggs. Nobody ordered scrambled eggs. Also we were told that the hash browns were not available.

    For a business-oriented hotel in the UK's second city, it was a little surprising to find that bars, restaurants and -- worst of all -- room service didn't cater for late arrivals

    The rooms were Clean and Tidy. The staff were very helpfull Parking was safe and secure. Breakfast was good value for money with a wide choice of menue

    Just an observation, the passages are looking a little tyred and could do with a re paint.

    Comfortable bed

    I required a non smoking room and was allocated to a smoking one. I was barely able to breathe by the morning. Hotels that cannot meet the basic health ans afety requirements of their guests should not be included on Actiove hotels lists. I will think twice about using Active Hotels again for this reason.

    My sister and I enjoyed speaking to the young and friendly staff of many nationalities and were made to feel very welcome

    The evening meal was disappointing (compared with the previous visit). Perhaps the chef was on holiday ? Both the duck and the salmon could have profited from a sauce and the very rich (and delicious) potato dish served with the duck would have been more appropriate to the salmon

    Location was good for Birimingham Centre

    The bedroom was obviously refurbished but still old and plain. The Bathroom spelt awful (of urine) and the flush on the toilet was broken. The bed was uncomfortable and the hotel was noisy most of the night with people coming and going.

    "Found the stay adequate but when needing ironing facilitates were told we would have to collect it from Reception - it would have been better if a member of staff could have delivered the equipment.     "We were a group of 6 adults over 30 staying overnight, it was a little noisy the early hours which isn't normally a problem, however we all had to get up early to be at the race track, Birmingham Wheels. The close location to the track, fantastic breakfast and friendly staff made up for it. It was overall a great weekend and a hotel which we hope to be staying in again." (97857970)

    good customer service from all staff. very good clean room with good tea/coffee facilities. overall the hotel and room was a pleasant experience and goo value for money when booking online.

    the room hairdryer was not working. the 2 over head bed lamps (lights) were not working. it would be good to place a door lock on the bathroom door for privacy. breakfast should be included with the booking of a room.

    "I had previously used the Hotel frequently, but not for around 3 years. Was surprised to see how basic the rooms looked now. The whole hotel looked a bit tired and in need of a facelift.     It was within easy reach by taxie from the NEC

    I went for a walk around 9.00 pm, and felt it was very isolated area to be walking.There were no shops within the area I walked but I did not ask if there were any shops arounf there may have been. The grouting in the bathroom tiles could do with a clean.

    Comfortable bed, brilliant shower, good food and service.

    Boiling hot in the room - only a small window to open. Luckily we brought a fan or would have been awake all night. Noise from building works opposite. Added to the noise from our fan, almost impossible to sleep a decent amount.

    The Staff, and Breakfast were Excellant,

    The Bathroom was the only poor point the Grouting arround the bath was not up to standard with na lot of Black fungi stanes. The Tap on the wash basen was not very good, difficult to regulate to grt Hot water

    The service, in particular the receptionist Rebecca and the waiter Merek (spelling?) were wonderful. Both were courteous, helpful and very friendly.

    The room was outdated and fairly dingy/dirty.

    Très bonne localisation entre Villa Park, le stade de football d'Aston Villa, (accessible à  pied en 15 minutes) et le centre ville. En plus, quasiment tout monde parlait français à la réception.
