    "This hotel has recently changed hands. There is renovation going on, so it smelled strongly of paint, but that wasn't too bad. They still seem to be settling in - I didn't get my wake-up call and they weren't sure what was available on room service. The bar service was very hesitant. But all the staff were very friendly and tried to find out answers." (97821416)

    Nice room, pleasant front room with fireplace. Staff were friendly.

    Staff were a bit disorganised and unclear about room service menus.

    Been to Etrop 3 times prior to this visit and we were extremely disappointed in the menu in the restaurant this time. Poor limited choice on menu and waiter quite uncommunicative. One of the reasons we booked the Etrop instead of other aitport hotels was because we thought we would get a good meal, in which case we were very disappointed. Mary Lamb

    "We found the staff to be very helpful, and did all they could to help in any way they could. We enjoyed our stay and would go back again. I have to mention the suttle bus supplied by the hotel, the driver was most helpful and always came very quickly. Great service all round." (97143773)

    Good looking hotel

    Awful room. Fold-up beds in corner made room look like DSS bedsit. Light switch pushed into the wall. Hole in bathroom ceiling where fan should be. Taps on bath catch on tiles. Part of foot of bed infirm with potential health and safety risk.

    "WE have stayed at Etrop Grange before and always found the staff very helpful.We think it is an ideal place to stay if you are flying on holiday and would certainly recomend it. In fact we hope to be able to book in again for December the 30th when we leave for our New Year break and look forward to the evening meal." (97221757)

    It was comfortable,clean and very handy for the Airport with complementry travel to the terminal. There was a good menu available

    Staff was exceptionally courteous and professional and the hotel is perfectly locatted for easy access to the airport.

    The fire alarm went off at 3:30 in the morning!! Fortunately it was a false alarm!!

    "We had a very pleasant overnight stay with surprisingly little aircraft noise. We appreciated the transport to the airport and the help with our luggage. The restaurant menu was expensive and a little too unusual and exotic, particularly for our American guests. However the chef agreed to serve us dishes from the bar menu at our table in the restaurant, which solved the problem. The hotel was very full with wedding guests, but the staff went out of their way to see that we were catered for and comfortable." (99242828)

    "I travel alone when i am away from home on business. I do not like dining on my own and will only stay in hotels where room service is available. I was unaware that this had changed since my last stay and due to inadequate staff levels, breakfast is no longer served in the rooms.     very quaint. i liked the decor and achitecture.

    the toilet made an immense groaning noise for a while, as the cistern refilled. not really a complaint as such, but it was a mildly disappointing surprise, considerering everything else was fine.

    "Convenient for the Airport. Rack rate was OK, but would be better to ahve breakfast included. Generally in need of upgrade and a little dated. Staff friendly and helpful. Seminar room was fine and service prompt, but wi-fi only worked in the main lounge, not in the bedrooms." (99801972)

    The room was comfortable and the staff helpful. The lunch was good.

    There was painting going on in the public areas, which was inconvenient. There were no bar facilities. The hotel looked a bit dated.

    Close to airport

    Old fashioned. Extensive maintenance (redecoration) going on which was interefering with visitors. Particularly since internet was only available in the lounge area this was realy disruptive

    "This is a cozy, comfy, warm and a lovely piece of England just minutes away from the airport. Loved that it wasn't a chain: the nooks and crannies and little rooms in which to sit were inviting to all.     Loved that it wasnt a chain, it's coziness, good food, warmth. LOVELY neighborhood and park to walk around in, and FAST to the airport. EASY, COMFY, COZY

    Getting bags to the room. We had been travelling for weeks and had accumulated lots of bags. Wasn't help to take the bags through the long corridors, little steps and closed doorways that had to be opened and held. Suggest that some young kids be hired to help guests with bags. No workout facility.

    The room was very nice, the hotel building is beautiful and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

    The hotel walls are extremely thin. We were awakened many times during the night and early morning by other guests taking showers - sounded like they were in our bathroom and also other guests talking and watching tv in their rooms.

    "I was treated as an honored guest, as I would be in a private country home. The staff knew me by name within a day, and treated me very warmly.     Well-situated with easy access to Manchester Airport. Excellent service - staff pleasant and accommodating. Lovely hotel, beautifully decorated. If you're looking for 'old world charm', you'll find it here. Private and peaceful, providing an excellent night's sleep before the long journey home to Australia.

    The shower!!! Like all English showers, disappointing.
